Who we are

Shootika is a Shopify app built by DIMENSO L.L.C-FZ. It generates on-model and lifestyle product photography from the flat-lay images already attached to your Shopify products, and publishes the frames you approve back to the product page.

This policy covers the Shopify app and this website. It explains what Shootika reads from your store, what it writes back, who else handles your images along the way, and what it never collects.

What Shootika reads from your store

When you install Shootika it reads your catalogue from Shopify: your products, their variants, the collections they belong to, and the images already attached to them. Those images are the input the whole product is built on, which is why Shootika never asks you to upload anything separately.

Shootika also keeps the account details Shopify gives it about your store: the store name and domain, the country the store is registered in, the contact and billing email addresses on the account, and the name of the store owner. If people on your team sign in, it keeps their name and email address so it can tell who approved what.

Billing runs through Shopify. Shootika can see which plan you are on and how many credits you have used. It never sees your card details.

What Shootika writes back

When you approve a generated frame, Shootika adds it to that product in Shopify as a product image, so it appears on the product page like any other photograph of that item.

It works the same way in reverse. If you take one of those frames down, Shootika deletes that image from the product in Shopify. It only ever removes images it put there itself.

Adding and removing its own frames is everything Shootika writes to your catalogue. It does not edit your prices, your stock levels or your product descriptions, it does not publish or unpublish anything, and it does not create or delete products.

A frame you have not approved is never written to your store.

Generated images and the providers that make them

Generating a photograph is not something the Shopify app does on its own. Shootika sends the product image you picked, along with the settings for the shot, to Dimenso's own processing engine. That engine is a separate service run by the same company, so your images do leave the app in order to be worked on.

The engine produces the frames using commercial AI image-generation providers. Your images are sent to those providers only so that they can do that work. We have not named them here because the engine can use more than one and which provider runs a given job is a configuration choice. If you need the current list for your own compliance records, ask us and we will give it to you.

Your product images may also be used to train and improve the models behind Shootika, so that results get better for everyone using it. This applies to merchant product imagery only. If you would rather your images were not used this way, write to us and we will exclude your store.

The frames Shootika generates for you are not kept for training.

Where data is stored

Your product images, and the frames generated from them, are held in cloud object storage. The web address of each file contains a long random value, and we do not list, index or link to those addresses.

They are not, however, behind a login. A generated frame has to be fetchable by Shopify for Shootika to be able to publish it to your product at all, so anyone who has the address of a file can open it. Treat these addresses as unlisted rather than private.

Your store, catalogue and credit records live in Shootika's own database. While a generation is being worked on, copies of the images involved also sit in the processing engine's storage.

Email that Shootika sends you, such as a message saying a batch has finished, goes out through a third-party email provider. App distribution and billing run through Shopify.

How long we keep it

A frame you have added to a product stays for as long as it is attached. Shootika does not delete an image that is live on your product page.

A frame you have not added to a product is deleted after a retention window. The clock starts when the frame finished generating, or, if you had it on a product and later took it down, from the moment you removed it: that is the point at which the photograph stopped being in use. The length of that window is a setting rather than a promise, so this policy describes the rule and not a number.

Your store, catalogue and account records are kept while Shootika is installed. When you uninstall, Shootika loses its access to your store and the generated images it still holds are purged.

What we do not collect

Shootika works on the pictures already sitting on your products. It has nothing to do with the people who visit your store.

There is no Shootika widget on your storefront and no part of Shootika that a shopper ever sees or interacts with. It does not use a camera. It does not accept photographs of people from your customers. It does not run live or real-time try-on of any kind.

It does not measure, derive or store facial or bodily characteristics, physical measurements or any other identifier drawn from a person's appearance, whether from an image you supplied or from a frame it generated.

It does not follow your shoppers around, does not store identifiers in their browsers and keeps no record of what any individual shopper looked at. It never receives your card details.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how it is used, or to withdraw consent you have given. To exercise any of them, write to us.

Most of what Shootika holds is your own business content. There is no button that deletes a generated frame outright: taking a frame down removes it from your product, and a frame that is not on a product is deleted for you once its retention window has passed. To have something removed sooner than that, or to have anything else deleted, write to us. Uninstalling removes Shootika's access to your store, and the generated images it still holds are purged after that.

Product photography often shows people, and the frames Shootika produces are pictures of people by design. You are responsible for holding the rights you need in the images you give it. What you may do with the frames it gives back is covered by the image licence rather than by this policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Where a change materially affects how your data is handled, we will tell merchants directly rather than rely on anyone noticing a date.

This document was written from how Shootika actually works and has not been through legal review. The notice at the top of the page says so, and it will keep saying so until that review has happened.
